DIY: Winter Swearer Skirt

Why buy a skirt, when you can make the one you have in your head — the perfect length, the perfect material, the perfect fit with a stitch that needs a little work (in my case).     

By no means do I consider myself to be seamstress, but when I can’t find what I’m looking for, or what I find doesn’t match my body shape or price range I will find a work-around.   I took a trip to my local Goodwill Store, and found a couple of men’s sweaters that were big enough to fit around my hips and long enough to get my desired length. Took it home — washed it, cut off the sleeves, added a little elastic band, and prepared to do a little sewing. 

My grandmother is a seamstress, so I thought that I would see if I had a natural touch.  I definitely need a little more practice, but I proud of my outcome.
