Summer has been pretty amazing so far, and the decision to take a “Framily” vacay in Cancun to celebrate the big 30th was the highlight. Cancun was the perfect location that had everything for everyone — family friendly fun, romantic adventures, and of course nightlife excitement. There was a lot to do (you can check out some of the highlights here), and it all started with finding the perfect hotel and flight.

In the Air: We traveled Southwest Airlines, and they were absolutely the best! Ameer let the flight attendant know it was my birthday and she gave the birthday crew free drinks for the entire 3-hour plane ride. And if that wasn’t enough, they gave me my own custom “cup” cake and sung happy birthday to everyone celebrating their birthday on the plane. It was probably the best experience I have had on a flight, and Southwest will always have a piece of my heart for helping me start my birthday trip off right.

Thank you Southwest Airlines!
That special “cup”cake! 🙂

Tip: Don’t be afraid to tell the flight attendants you are celebrating something special. You will be surprised by the upgrades they are willing to give you.

Hotel: The Omni Hotels & Resorts in Cancun was our playground for the trip, and it was the perfect place for a “Framily” vacation. It is an all-inclusive resort that is kid friendly with amazing restaurants and bars. We opted on a beach view villa, and it was perfect for catching the sunrise in the morning and hosting everyone for good laughs over cake in the afternoon.

I loved lounging around at the pool and beach with the family. Enjoying fresh tacos and sushi creations during the day, and dressing up for fine dining at the steakhouse and Italian restaurant in the evenings had this foodie happy and content.

Sushi with Plantains and fried Coconut was a must!

It took us way too many tries to get this picture! It will be going in a frame. lol

Roland had the best underwater photos. My nephew is a pro!

Tip: When looking for an all-inclusive hotel with great amenities and food, check the hotel’s website in detail. Make sure they list all the restaurants they provide, and if they have a menu to view you are on the right track! Don’t be afraid to call the hotel for more details about what you find.

I was spoiled by all the amenities and barely wanted to leave the resort, but when we did leave the room we had a blast. Check out the 5 Things You Must Do in Cancun Post for more of the details!
