Thank You Alex Elle! I just started my journey of getting on a right diet, and every time I go to Alex Elle’s Tumblr she gives me life! I spend so much money on Organic Almond Milk, and never thought to make it myself until now.
If you are like me and want to know how you can make your own Almond Milk in a couple of easy steps, keep reading. Make sure you check our Alex Elle’s Instagram (@BreakfastwithAlex) and Tumblr (http://breakfastwithalex.com/) for more healthy and delicious treats from the eyes for a vegan.
What you will need:
1 cup raw almonds 2 cups water x mason jar for soaking overnight 2 cups water for blending Nutmilk bag or cheesecloth Pyrex measuring cup (Large) Blender (I use a NutriBullet)
What to do:
Soak almonds overnight/drain in the AM and rinse. Put almonds in blender with 2 cups of filtered water/ blend well until smooth. Take your cheesecloth or nutmilk bag and line your Pyrex. Add about 8oz of water/almond mixture to the cloth or bag at a time. Adding too much will make draining much harder. Squeeze liquid out of the cloth/bag until you’re left with almond meal.
SAVE YOUR ALMOND MEAL, it can be used for baking. Repeat steps until your Pyrex is full of yummy almond milk. Sweeten to your liking. I added agave nectar and vanilla bean powder, both were raw. Consume your milk within 2-3 days. 🙂 ENJOY!!
