The Center of America Progress recently published its’ report on were African American women stand today in Health, Education, Entrepreneurship, Economics, and Political Leadership. African American women make up 13% of the United States population, and their have been major strides including teenage pregnancy dropping by 7%. Yet many of the stats are alarming:
Highlight: In the nation’s 100 largest cities, only one African American woman is currently serving as mayor—Stephanie Rawlings-Blake of Baltimore.
