If Tyra Banks was a psychic, she would predict that in the future beauty will bring about a major change in the World. +Tyra Banks recently wrote an article for the +Wall Street Journal outlining what she thought the future held for the world of beauty. After reading it I felt a little torn. One side of me gets were she is coming from being a pro in the industry, but the other side of me questions if she is in tuned to what is happening on the ground level for women.
I will agree with her that the obsession with plastic surgery has drawn (a lot) of women to go through crazy underground procedures, and soon there will be a shift in supply and demand… Getting plastic surgery done will soon be as simple as getting a tattoo. However, I just don’t see the majority of people making that the new accessory for their life, nor do I believe hair extensions will disappear in the future, or water being able to arch eyebrows. Wigs and weaves have been in present in history ever since Adam and Eve had to cover up, and the presents of quick grow hair pills just doesn’t seem to be able to cut the cake to quick hair-do changes.
Overall, she brings up a lot of interesting points that are worth exploring. She sees beauty changing the World — Prejudices will end and women will have the upper hand over men. I would love to hear what you have to say about it!
