Health Benefits of Green Tea

Does green tea help shrink fibroids?

Green Tea has been proven to shrink fibroids. In a clinical study, that found that women who consumed 800 mg of green tea extract daily saw a reduction of their fibroids by 32.6%! This can be a game changer for so many women if they started drinking this early in their journey. And I personal wish I knew this when I first found out a had fibroids in 2017. Now I have a reason to have a cup of Green Tea and/or Green Tea Extract daily, and making it in a hibiscus green cold brew tea is my favorite.

Hibiscus Health Benefits

Hibiscus is one of those herbs you hear a lot about for overall health. However, the thing that intrigues me the most about Hibiscus is that it has high levels of polyphenols and that it is a supercharged antioxidants to fight inflammation. And polyphenols contain powerful anti-cancer properties.

Does hibiscus help shrink fibroids?

Fibroids are noncancerous tumors in the uterus that can benefit from hibiscus. Hibiscus contains protocatechuic acid (PCA ) that has been studied and shown “potential as a cancer chemopreventive agent against tumor promotion”, according to NIH.

What are the risk and side effects of hibiscus for women’s fertility?

Hibiscus has amazing health benefits for overall health. However, studies have shown that hibiscus has unwanted side effects for women looking to conceive or pregnant. In a 2007 study, they found Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn, a native Chinese medicinal plant, showed to “posses anti-implantation and antispermatogenic activities.”

Even though this study only reflected one of the 250 species of Hibiscus (Malvaceae), it is important to note that if you are on a fertility journey, hibiscus may not be the herb of choice for you. As always, discuss with your doctor the pros and cons before starting a regiment.

Why Drink Hibiscus and Green Tea for Women’s Health

Both Green Tea and Hibiscus are perfect for women dealing with Estrogen Dominance like Endometriosis and Fibroids. These are both disorders that I deal with and recently shared on my Instagram how, despite mastering my pain, I am still learning how to reduce inflammation and bloating from.

When I first found this out, I was surprised there weren’t more people screaming this from the rooftop! But, I guess I will be the first to get loud about it. This is a BIG deal! There are so many women struggling to figure out a way to stop the fibroids from getting bigger, and it can be as simple as a glass of tea daily.

Why Cold Brew Tea

To reap the benefits of Hibiscus Green tea, you don’t need to make a cold brew tea. However, because we are drinking this tea for health reasons, avoiding heat helps maintain the health ingredients in our herbs.

Adding heat to anything will burn some of the nutrients off of it, and simply making a cold brew tea will help you avoid that.

So it’s time to make some tea!
