March is officially over, which means that Endometriosis Awareness Month is over. However, that does not mean that the fight for a better life with Endometriosis had ended.

On April 5th and 6th women in the Endometriosis community will be holding a protest against ACOG to push them to makes changes that is insure when find treatment and relief earlier.

In honor of the protest, I did decided to share my personal reasons on protesting for change.

YouTube video

Endometriosis effect over 176 Million women in the United States, yet there is a standard of care that is followed by both OBGYNs and insurance companies leaving the patient to figure thing out for themselves and become their own Endometriosis specialist.

Why I am protesting ACOG for Endometriosis:

  1. All women should receive the same amount of care no matter what type of insurance they have.

  2. There should be a standard of care for diagnosing Endometriosis.

  3. All women deserve to see a specialist that knows how to perform a laparoscopy properly.

  4. Insurance companies should not have an option to pay for a treatment that is considered necessary to diagnose Endometriosis and give women relief.

This is an iconic moment for most women’s journey because they are finally in control of the outcome they want, however this is often reached after visiting multiple doctors and experiencing treatments that are done incorrectly. It’s time for a change and the time is now!
