Strawberry picking season in Maryland is one of my favorite times of the year! It is the first sign of summer in Maryland, and it is the perfect way to celebrate the warm weather to come for me and my family. I have been taking Klay to the farm for the strawberry season here in Maryland since he was 6 months old, and we have our favorites! In this blog post, I will be breaking down our top three best strawberry picking farms in Maryland this year and why.

Larriland Farms

If you are looking for big strawberries to pick in the Maryland area, this is the farm for you! Larrliand offers huge patches with even bigger strawberries for picking. It took us only 30 minutes to fill our large container, making it an enjoyable experience with my toddler. We didn’t have to go search through the fields. We were able to get what we needed after picking on one row.

This is a place to taste the variety of Maryland strawberries. Butler’s farm offers two types of strawberries that the connoisseurs will love while picking. Both types have a unique flavor that you can taste. This year’s fields are perfect for walking if you don’t want to do it on a summer day over. After picking strawberries, you can pick peonies and visit the market for other farm goods.

Strawberry picking is an adventure here. From tracker rides through the fields, slushes, and shortcake mix; Baugher’s is a place to offer a well-rounded experience with your family. They have a petting zoo and a playground that will keep your littles busy all day!
#3 Maryland Strawberry Picking
It’s officially Strawberry Season in Maryland! I’m always excited a for picking strawberries near me. But strawberry season is special because it is the first fruit harvest of the spring/summer season.
As a mom, picking fruit with Klay has been a way for me to help him embrace nature, experience independence, and learn about the world around him. But, even before I had a little one, going to the farms has been my thing!

Maryland Farm List: Strawberry Picking
Picking season in Maryland starts in late May and goes until late June for strawberries. Most farms are open rain or shine. And if you are looking for a great place to take your little one, I have 3 of my favorite farms that I have been taking my little guy for years:
Larriland Farm
This year we went to Larriland Farm. It was the start of the season and it was a little cold and rainy, but the pickings were perfect! We put on our rain gear and my son enjoyed the muddy puddles along the way.
The great thing I love about Larriland Farm is that they have so many options to make picking a full day experience. The farm has a petting zoo, a hay maze, and bees in the market that had my son in awe!
Baugher’s Orchard & Farm
We make out way to Baugher’s Orchard & Farm every year. Why? Because they have tracker rides to the fields that my son loves! It’s the little joys. And, the tracker ride into the strawberry, peaches, cherries, and apple fields is something we all look forward to doing. They also have a playground area, petting zoo, and speciality drinks throughout the picking season.
Butler’s Orchard
If you need more activities for your little one, Butler’s Orchard is the place for you. It is like a little carnival field with slides, activities, trailer rides through the fields, and great food!
Also, they have the picturesque seasonal setups that include the Butler’s Truck over looking the Sunflower field.
