Spring Beauty | Natural Beauty Routine

Spring is here! This is my natural beauty routine that I know you will love.

I have done a complete overhaul on my beauty routine and turned it green. A natural beauty routine was a priority to me. One main reason is because I want to avoid adding any unnecessary chemicals to my system while breastfeeding. The other determining factor is that I have lost a lot of my hair from childbirth, and I decided to go natural — no chemicals and no heat!

Granted I was already natural. But, wearing my hair curly was not my go-to. It was just easier going to the Dominicans once a month. Until, my last segment I did on Maryland Midday! I watched the segment and saw that I clearly was experiencing hair loss around the time Klay turned 6 months! All of my mommy friends told me that that day may come, but I just knew that I wouldn’t have that issue since I was still taking my prenatal vitamins religiously and my hair was the fullest it has every been.

It crept up on me!

So, one night, I washed my hair, cut off my heat damaged ends and called my mom for some advice!

Since then, I have gotten so many great comments about my hair and literally woman would stop me in my tracks and ask what I was using, so this is for you!

SoapBox

I actually stumbled upon Soapbox the day of the Chic Social. We were leaving out of the event and Dave, the co-founder, asked if we would like to try to free products. We literally talked for hours about the my hair type, what I needed in a product and he suggested the Coconut Oil Shampoo/Conditioner. I have been using this shampoo and conditioner since March and I haven’t looked back!

The conditioner is full of moisture, and I often use it as a leave-in conditioner. Whenever I do, that is usually the day someone is stopping me and asking me about my hair!

Let’s talk about my skin!

Since having Klay, life has been a roller coaster! My diet has been all over the place, a lot of sleepless nights and early mornings. My stress levels has been through the roof and time is flying by. I swear yesterday I went to sleep it was March and woke up today to May!!

Oh, and it showed on my face. I didn’t have the time to dedicate to my old routine and with Klay constantly wanting to slob on my face, I knew it was time to change out my old beauty routine.

I didn’t like the idea of my son kissing off chemicals from my face. And, I honestly needed a more holistic beauty routine for my own personal well-being.

I found the perfect products! I have been using them for the last 40 days and I have seen great results. My skin is soft, glowing, and acne free.

The Organic Skin Co.

The thing that I love about The Organic Skin Co. is that a certified organic , cruelty free and vegan brand. All the ingredients listed on the back are ingredients that I know and feel confident about using.

Natural Deodorant

Salt Deodorant Benefits

Now let’s talk about these arm pits!

I have been using regular deodorant that I love, but I saw this post on Facebook. And dang it, Monique had me really thinking!

Any toxins in my deodorant can easily flow into my breast milk, and that is a serious problem! I changed up quick and started using a natural salt deodorant and I haven’t looked back.

The one thing I will say about this deodorant that it is best you use it right after getting out the shower on moist skin. Trying to rub this on dry skin will have you feeling like you are rubbing off your skin!

Lord these last 3 months have been a journey, but I have finally found the green products that perfect for me and I had to share.
